Now these prohibited meat and poultry products which are already set to depart will need to find an alternative market and most commonly Sri Lankans will be the target.
The export lot must have gone under value adding processing technology namingly frozen, salted, hammed etc. Buying chickens just after slaughter is always better and try to verify where these chickens have come from by asking the vendor.
Try to avoid poultry products from Vayamba district where all this issue started and at-least for few weeks until the authority has distributed vaccines intended to put an halt to this disease.
